This project was inspired by the idea that a hotel is more than just a place to spend the night. In the intimacy of the rooms, in the hall or restaurant, in large or small part, the guests play the lead roles in every corner of the hotel, witnesses to an endless amount of stories that until now have remained hidden in the memory of our guests, becoming lost over time. 

Hotel Stories, created by Fair Play Ediciones, has two goals. One is to provide a format to remember the stories that make up hotel’s history, having the guests themselves participate in this “living memory.” Another is to provide guests with a tool that will allow them to become better acquainted with the hotel, in the hopes that this, in turn, will make their stay a little more pleasant.

The project came to light at the beginning of 2009, when the Majestic and Condes hotels in Barcelona decided to try out this new customer loyalty tool, the first of its kind in Spain.

The results are small, personalised and bilingual (Spanish and English) pocket books where the guest will discover the most amusing and original anecdotes that have happened in the hotel. These stores are from the guests themselves, employees, occasional clients, bar-restaurant customers, etc., which Fair Play Ediciones compiles through the Hotel Stories website developed for each participating hotel. Afterwards, our editing team will shape the narrative form.

Even though the names that appear in the stories are fictitious in order to preserve anonymity, all of the anecdotes in the book are true.
